Mary Jane Peeler Potter, 57, died Friday, March 10, 2006, at St. Francis Hospital.

Born in Rock Hill, Mrs. Potter was a daughter of Elizabeth Gertrude Lentz Peeler of Tampa, Florida and the late William E. Peeler. She graduated from Rock Hill High School and attended Winthrop University. She was a Roman Catholic.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, E.L. "Pete" Potter of the home; two daughters, Karen Potter Jones and her husband, Larry, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Mary Elizabeth Westgarth-Taylor and her husband, Colin, of Kannapolis, N.C.; four brothers, William E. Peeler, Jr., and James A. Peeler, both of Rock Hill, Phillip Peeler of Johnson City, Tennessee and Greg Peeler of Shelby, N.C.; five sisters, Betty Kibbe of Clermont, Florida, Suzanne Norwood of Johnson City, Tennessee, Debbie Mitchell of Clover, Patty Davis of Newberry, and Ginger Meyer of Charleston; and two grandchildren, Dillon Reed Jones and Margaret Elizabeth Jones. Mrs. Potter was predeceased by a brother, Vincent Peeler.

Visitation will be at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM Sunday.

Funeral services and burial will be Wednesday in Charlotte, N.C.

The family expresses their gratitude to the staff of both St. Francis Hospital and the Cancer Centers of the Carolinas for the special care they received.
