Obituary

Conway Hamilton Hutto, 73, of Pageland, SC known affectionately to all as Hamilton Hutto, was called home to his Heavenly Father on the 22nd day of September, 2023. Born on the 8th day of April in the year of our Lord 1950, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, Hamilton concluded his earthly journey in Pageland, South Carolina.

 

Hamilton's life was marked by an unwavering dedication to service, both professionally and personally. For over four decades, he was a pillar of the banking community, retiring as a respected Branch Manager of First Citizens Bank in Pageland. His steadfast commitment continued in his part-time role at Baumgartner Funeral Home, where for 11 years, he offered solace and support to families during their times of sorrow.

 

A man of faith and fraternity, Hamilton was a proud member of the Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge #58 of Pageland, SC. His financial acumen was put to good use as the Chairman of the Finance Committee with the Baptist Association, and his compassionate heart led him to serve on the Hospice of Chesterfield County Board. His love for his community and country was displayed through serving in the United States Army and his membership in the American Legion Post #80 in Jefferson, SC.

 

Hamilton's personal interests reflected his love for life, his family, and his faith. A devoted Christian, he was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Pageland, SC and Sunday School Leader, guiding and inspiring many with his wisdom and kindness. An avid outdoorsman, he took great pleasure in hunting, fishing, and playing golf. His love for sports was evident in his loyal support for the Gamecocks and the Atlanta Braves. Hamilton's heart truly belonged to his family. He took immense pride in his role as the family leader, cherishing every moment spent with his loved ones. His love for his grandchildren knew no bounds, and he was their greatest fan. Traveling was another of Hamilton's passions, offering him opportunities to create and share unforgettable experiences with his family. Hamilton Hutto was a man of love, faith, and thoughtfulness. His love was unconditional, his faith unwavering, and his thoughtfulness a beacon of light in the lives of those he touched. He was a rock, a safe haven, and a guiding star to many. His legacy is one of service, leadership, and a deep, abiding love for his family and his community.

 

He is survived by his wife, Pam Mullis Hutto of Pageland, SC; his children, Brett Hutto Of Pageland, SC, Matt Hutto (Cathy) of Clover, SC, Karis Knight Hicks (Brian) of Pageland, SC, Kayla Knight (TJ) of Conway, SC and Trent Hutto (Morgan) of Columbia, SC; brother, Chris Hutto (Kay) of Rock Hill, SC; sisters, Laurena Hutto-Taylor of West Cliff, Colorado and Delura Bonetti (Joe) of Indian Land, SC and loving grandchildren, Landon Hicks, Maddax Hutto, Lawson Hicks, Hayden Johnson, Addison Hutto and William Hutto.

 

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Sanctuary of Liberty Hill Baptist Church, 757 Liberty Hill Church Road, Pageland, SC.

 

There will be a Celebration of Life Funeral Service on Monday, September 25, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Liberty Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Mack Mullis officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Liberty Hill Baptist Church, C/O Backpack Ministry, PO Box 309, Pageland, SC.

 

In the words of the Good Book, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant." Well done, indeed, Hamilton. You have fought the good fight, you have finished your race, you have kept the faith. Now, a crown of righteousness awaits you. Rest in peace, Hamilton Hutto, until we meet again.
