Obituary for Claude Lewis Mauldin

Mr. Claude Lewis Mauldin, Sr., 71, of Fort Lawn passed away Saturday, May 29, 2021 at his home. He was born October 16, 1949 in Elkin, NC, a son of the late Hugh Monroe Mauldin and Mildred Jessie Martin Mauldin. Mr. Mauldin was a member of Fort Lawn Baptist Church and was a member of the choir. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Mr. Mauldin enjoyed cooking barbeque and making the sauce and doing upholstery work. But most of all he loved his family.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Mauldin will be held Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Fort Lawn Baptist Church with the Rev. Stephen Woody and Rev. Ronnie Aiton officiating. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.

Mr. Mauldin is survived by his wife, Wanda Gordon Mauldin of Fort Lawn; two sons, Claude Mauldin, Jr. of Lancaster and Tommy Mauldin of Fort Lawn; two daughters, Angie Hawkins and her husband Wayne of Rockledge, FL and Carrie Lincoln and her husband Jason of Fort Lawn; a sister, Lucille Wilson of Hahira, GA; six grandchildren, Hailey Hawkins, Camryn Hawkins, Nathan Mauldin, Parker Mauldin, Brandon Lincoln and Jordan Lincoln; and his fur grandson, Duke. He was preceded in death by a brother, Hugh Mauldin, III; and two sisters, Eva Blakely and Elizabeth Ellen Donahue.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Fort Lawn Baptist Church and other times at the home.
