Rock Hill, SC – Frieda W. Shrake, 76, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025 at her home.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm-1:50 pm on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints – Catawba Ward, 1989 Reservation Road, Rock Hill, SC. The service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at the church with Bishop Matt Burris officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Born in Rock Hill, SC, Frieda was the daughter of the late Esmerella Rushingwater Wade and the late Florence Harris Wade. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Connie Wade, Sr, and her sister, Joy Porter.

Frieda was retired from York Technical College with more than 20 years of service. She was a proud citizen of the Catawba Indian Nation. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing and watching Clemson football. Frieda was also a huge fan of Elvis Presley, attending his concerts whenever it was possible. She also loved her visits to Myrtle Beach. She was a lifetime member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was very involved in activities and ministries of the church. Frieda never missed an opportunity to share her testimony about her relationship with Jesus Christ. Her most vital role was dedicating her life in raising her daughter, Melissa and her mother, Florence Wade.

Surviving are her daughter, Melissa (Jason) Harris of Rock Hill, SC; her four grandchildren, Paiton Funderburk, Reece Funderburk, Ryan Funderburk, and Nakotah Harris; and several very special nieces and nephews.
