Michael "David" Melton, 73, of Rock Hill, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024. Born September 3, 1950, in Rock Hill, he was the son of the late David Edward "Bill" Melton and Sybil Faile Melton. David retired as a police officer from Rock Hill and York County. When not serving his community, David enjoyed going to Disney World, spending time in the mountains and watching movies.
He is survived by his loving wife, Gwendolyn Hudson Melton; daughter, Rachael Elizabeth Melton; son, Matthew David Melton and his wife, Stefanie; sisters-in-law: Denise Melton and Rhonda Black; and many more loving family and friends.
A celebration of David's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Park Ridge Baptist Church, 5099 Trotter Ridge Court Rock Hill, SC 29732. Visitation will follow the service and other times at the home of Denise Melton. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Park Ridge Baptist Church Building Fund 5099 Trotter Ridge Court Rock Hill, SC 29732.

I'm sorry to hear the sad news about David. He was such a pleasure to share classes with in high school. He was quiet but was very friendly and always gave good advice on things. I was also excited to hear he had a great career in Law Enforcement.
